This past week I had to grade somewhere around 115 essays from my AP Literature classes, so I didn’t get any books finished. I did get several started.
Observe the eclectic nature of my reading life:
First, Audrey gave me Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo. This writer is from (where else?) Australia. I read a good portion of this on my couch in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
Next, as I was looking for another book to sell, I came across this book that I forgot I had borrowed from my dad and had always wanted to read: Drive by Daniel Pink. I read the introduction and part of the first chapter.
And finally, because my husband and I are kind of health/nutrition enthusiasts, I have been reading The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth: the Surprising, Unbiased Truth About What You Should Eat and Why by Johnny Bowden. Consequently, I spent more money at the grocery store this weekend than I probably ever have before.
What are you reading this week?
“It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?” is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. It’s a great way to keep track of what you’re reading and see what others are reading each week.
I have Drive on my list, but I’m wary of spending time on this sort of book…They often spend two-hundred pages stating the obvious. I hope you follow up on this one when you finish.

I know what you mean; I like it so far, but I’m only on the first chapter. If a book starts stating the obvious too much, I just start skipping pages until I find something useful. But so far, it’s pretty good!
